Meet the Founders

TULA is the Sanskrit word for “Balance.” Tula Center for Bodywork is the result of a long standing vision of partners, April Schneider and Jay Negron, to create a place where Balance becomes the key to a successful bodywork practice and education center for our clients, ourselves and our community.

Our mission is to provide bodywork, education and support to eliminate your chronic and acute pain and to help you learn new ways to keep it that way so you can lead a balanced, healthy life.

  • I have been treating myself to massages for many years and April's massages are wonderful. She is a central component in my wellness program. My mother lived to 97 and I want my body to last that long.

  • Jay is hands down the very best, and multi-talented masseuse I have ever experienced! He sets the bar high, integrating skills from all types of massage. I am an athelete that plays hard and often gets injured, Jay has helped me through recoveries for over 10 years now.

  • April is amazing at what she does. She has an excellent understanding of the body and how to make it function at a higher level. I came to her with a sports injury that I had been harboring for years. After the first visit I had increased range of motion and reduced pain. April is also a genuinely nice person. She is so easy to work with and extremely kind.

  • I have been going to see Jay for several months. I have had many different massage therapists throughout my life and Jay is by far the best! He has a unique ability to combine many different massage methods and the result is amazing.

  • April knows how to make a pregnant woman's sore body sing! Through her intuitive touch, I have grown to trust the quality of her work more than any other masseuse I've worked with. She listens when you tell her what you need, and yet, frequently, she knows what your unspoken needs are and wisely gravitates to those areas in the body that have been holding tension.

  • I have been seeing Jay for over a year and he has helped me tremendously in overcoming the scar tissue that developed around my neck after my cancer surgery. His knowledge of that area and his touch have been crucial for my rehab. I would hate to think where I would be without him!
