Covid-19 Updates

TULA Operations

TULA Closure until April 7th

Updated March 17th: Below is a copy of the email TULA sent out to all newsletter subscribers.  Please note the updates in ( ) since this email was sent out Monday morning.  We will continue to update here and on social media as necessary.

Dear TULA Community,
We have struggled with this decision over the last few days as we’ve learned more about the nature of this virus and the importance of “social distancing” in order to best protect our community, especially our elderly and the immune-suppressed among us.  Despite our increased focus on sanitizing, the close nature of our work, coupled with the new knowledge that COVID-19 is likely passing amongst asymptomatic people, we just can no longer justify remaining open for the immediate future.  In addition, we’ve just received word that the CA Massage Therapy Council has “strongly advised” that therapist forgo work at this time.  We care too deeply about our clients, their loved ones and our families to take this lightly.

For now, we plan to take it one week at a time. At this time, all clients on the our schedule for the week of March 17-22 will be cancelled.  We will notify all clients affected personally, and we will be in touch by the next weekend re: each week forward.  (UPDATE: As of March 17th, according to the new shelter in place mandate, we will plan to stay closed through April 7th)

If you are a current monthly member and you are financially able to allow your autopay to go through as planned on the 1st of April, we greatly appreciate your support.  The influx of income will help us manage our expenses until we are able to see clients regularly again.  All paid for and unused massages will be rolled over until able to be used in the future.  If you are struggling financially given the current situation, please let us know prior to March 30th, we can put your membership on hold for a month or two. We understand that this time will be tough on many, and as you have supported us, we hope to support you.

There are many small businesses like our own, wanting to do what is right for our community and families, while also facing the very real prospect of financial insecurity that comes along with this type of situation.  If you are able, we encourage you to continue to support those businesses that make our community unique and beautiful and offer such valuable services to us all. Perhaps buying gift certificates or simply writing those positive reviews online you’ve thought about doing, but haven’t yet!  Coming together, supporting one another will be what pulls us through, and we are SO very grateful for our amazing community here at TULA.

If you need anything, please reach out…we hope to use this time to plan for the future and to create new avenues of learning and sharing.  If you have self-care questions or need extra support, we are available and open to phone calls, emails or even a video call.

Please continue to follow us on Instagram and Facebook or check back regularly on our website to stay updated on the latest information.  See the links below to connect automatically.

Stay healthy and we’ll see you soon..

With Peace & Gratitude,
April & Jay
