SO--find a babysitter, take an evening off, and come out to TULA for a Date Night you won't soon forget!
Thai Massage: You and your partner will learn active and passive stretching, breath work and Thai massage techniques meant to open up and clear out your energetic pathways throughout your body. It is a wonderful modality for increasing flexibility and movement in the joints (hence the nickname, 'lazy person's Yoga')! This type of massage is traditionally performed fully clothed, without oils or lotions, on a comfortable mat on the floor. Perfect for those with an active lifestyle and/or those looking for an easy, 'do anywhere' massage.
Thai Massage I will focus on stretching and techniques done while in a seated and supine (lying on your back) position.
Thai Massage II will focus on stretching and techniques done while in a side-lying and prone (lying on your stomach) position.
Schedule: Private and Semi-private workshops scheduled by Appointment.
Swedish Massage: Come learn traditional 'Spa' techniques and strokes to help soothe, relax and work out the stress and tension being held in your partner's muscles. You and your partner will learn the same basic strokes that all massage therapists use so that you can apply them in the privacy of your own home! This type of massage is traditionally performed with limited clothing, using oil or lotion directly on the skin, on a massage table while professionally draped. Perfect for those looking for a more intimate way to connect with their partner and/or those interested in learning the traditional basics of massage. Please make sure and read the "What to Wear" section in the Workshop Details below!

These classes are geared towards individuals already practicing bodywork or other integrated wellness fields, and looking to expand their knowledge and deepen their practice. Currently, CEUs are not available for these courses, but we are in the process of becoming a certified CEU provider through NCBTMB to be able to eventually offer this added benefit.
The Evolution of Therapeutic Massage and the Integration of Deep Tissue Work: The first part of this class will focus on 'what are the traditional perspectives on deep tissue?' i.e. firm Swedish, and how does it relate to classic massage and more advanced work like Structural Integration, Orthopedic work, sports massage etc.? How can we integrate these ideas when performing Deep Tissue work? The rest of the class will review the Fundamentals of Deep Tissue. The goal of the class is to prepare the student to delve more deeply into each area of the body and its gross movers, synergists and antagonists throughout the rest of the FDTI series. Or, if you are seeking a solid foundational review of DT work, this is also a great stand-alone class!
